So it’s not book related, but I feel that I must share this anyway.  It is just too good.  And hey, we’re all geeks here right?

Del Rey to continue publication of Star Wars novels.

From Star Wars.com

“Maintaining a relationship that began more than 30 years ago, LucasBooks and Del Rey are slated to publish another 45 Star Wars titles from 2009 through the end of 2013. The titles will include 35 novels and 10 nonfiction books.”

I mentioned back in August that I purchased, Betrayal the first book of the Legacy of the Force series out of a sense of nostalgia.  I used to be really into the novels, but I fell out of it at about the time of the Prequels when a lot of Old Republic novels were coming out.  That period of the Star Wars universe has never really interested me after the horror of Episode I & II.

I’ve begun reading Betrayal, thinking I might pick up the novelizations back then.  Nothing compares to the Timothy Zahn, Thrawn Trilogy (my favorite Star Wars story arc), but Betrayal has been an enjoyable read so far.  I -loved- this scene, silly as it was.  The fangirl in me squeeled and giggled like a thirteen-year-old girl at a Twilight release party.

Tycho shook his head, “Not Pellaeon.”
“My double.” The voice came from a shadowy doorway; its door was opened, not destroyed.  From it stepped the old admiral, dressed in a dark robe, a blaster rifle in his hands.  He looked sorrowful as he gazed at the man who had died in his; even his bristly mustache seemed to droop.
Tycho asked, “Is Han…”
“He’s fine,” Leia said.  ”Han shot first.”
