It’s an interesting way to organize a library. I don’t believe it is a system that is likely to work well in large university or public libraries due to the sheer number of subject matters contained within. The belly band doesn’t tell you what the book is about, so you still have to open the book up anyway. There is also the amount of effort it would take to go and make each bellyband and cut it to size. I might remember this though the next time I want to reorganize my library though. It is rather pretty.

It is pretty…appropriate title, but you’re right, not every practical for bigger libraries. Fun, though!
